A Little About Us

Chrismarie graduated with a bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from the University of Stellenbosch in 2014. She then completed her community service year at Cradock District Hospital in the Eastern Cape, serving the rural community of Cradock and surrounding areas. Here she treated an array of different diagnoses and gained experience in developmental pediatric disorders such as Cerebral Palsy, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and developmental delays. It is in this small rural town where she discovered her deep passion for children. In 2016 she returned to Cape Town where she took over an established private practice and also gained experience by working under an esteemed occupational therapist. Currently, she is also involved with Curro Uitzicht where she works as part of a support team to enable children to reach their potential at school.  She has always had a keen interest in sensory integration and completed her post-graduate training in Ayres Sensory Integration through SAISI. She has a strong passion for children and believes that all children have the potential for a bright future.
